SoundCloud: AI content rules and Content Credentials
Short answer
SoundCloud encourages creators who are subject to Article 50(4) of the EU AI Act to disclose that their content is “AI-generated or manipulated” in the track description. AI content must follow SoundCloud’s platform policies, and impersonation with voice-cloning or likeness tools is forbidden.

If you post AI content on SoundCloud
- If Article 50(4) applies to you, write “AI-generated or manipulated” in the track description.
- Do not imitate another artist with voice-cloning or likeness tools without authorisation.
- Check that the AI tools you used respect other people’s rights.
Content Credentials (C2PA)
SoundCloud’s guidance does not mention C2PA Content Credentials. We did not find more in the pages we read.
What is and is not documented
- SoundCloud’s article on monetising AI content requires signing in and was not read.
Check a file yourself
The Content Credentials checker reads the C2PA data in an image in your browser and shows who signed it, the generating tool and whether the signature still matches. It reads what a file declares; it does not detect AI from pixels, and a file with no credentials proves nothing either way. See why metadata gets stripped.
