Deezer: AI content rules and Content Credentials

Short answer

Deezer tags albums that include fully AI-generated tracks, using its own AI music detection tool, and said in June 2025 that it was excluding fully AI-generated tracks from algorithmic and editorial recommendations. The announcement does not mention C2PA.

Platform label

Deezer’s announcement of 20 June 2025.

“Paris, June 20, 2025 – Deezer, the global music experiences platform, today introduced the world’s first AI tagging system for music streaming, clearly displaying which albums include fully AI generated tracks.”

Recommendations

Monetisation

Same announcement, at the time it was published.

“Deezer is currently excluding fully AI generated tracks from algorithmic and editorial recommendations, in order to minimize any negative impact on artist remuneration and the user experience.”

Detection

Detection

Same announcement.

“Deezer’s AI music detection tool sets an industry standard, with the ability to detect 100 % AI-generated music from the most prolific generative models – such as Suno and Udio, with the possibility to add detection capabilities for practically any other similar tool as long as there’s access to relevant data examples.”

If you post AI content on Deezer

  • Expect fully AI-generated tracks to be tagged on Deezer.
  • Check Deezer’s newsroom for the current recommendation rule; the one quoted here is from June 2025.

Content Credentials (C2PA)

Deezer’s announcement describes its own detection tool, not C2PA Content Credentials. We did not find more in the pages we read.

What is and is not documented

  • The recommendation rule is quoted as stated in June 2025; the page does not say whether it still applies.

Check a file yourself

The Content Credentials checker reads the C2PA data in an image in your browser and shows who signed it, the generating tool and whether the signature still matches. It reads what a file declares; it does not detect AI from pixels, and a file with no credentials proves nothing either way. See why metadata gets stripped.
