AI Act in Spain.

Spain’s AI agency AESIA publishes FAQs on the Code of Practice for AI-generated content labelling (Article 50). Spain’s government approved a draft organic law on AI governance on 26 May 2026 and sent it to Congress; an earlier 2025 draft proposed treating failure to label AI-generated media as a serious infringement.

Status and limits

  • The organic law is a bill. We did not verify whether it has since been enacted or amended.
  • The 2025 press release describes an earlier draft; its labelling wording may differ from the 2026 bill.
  • AESIA’s page relays Commission and AI Office material; it is not a separate Spanish rule.

The EU rule itself
